Happy Birthday, Ty!!!

Hey y’all, this is Suzanne … surreptitiously hacking into Ty’s blog.  Please join Bongo (and our friends Joyce and Sharon) in this video in wishing My Beloved Husband, Your Faithful Correspondent, Ty, a happy birthday (December 11th).  This is a big day for him.  He now qualifies for special discounts at Waffle House.

Okay, it’s the real BlogMeister again, not Corvette Chick hacking into my blog…

Yes, I am now officially qualified for MediCare and for discounts at some restaurants… but not for wings at Hooters, darn the bad luck!

I had a great birthday, with calls from family, singing from Bongo, Joyce and Sharon, a visit from Elizabeth Magee with a very nice selection of coffees, and terrific prezzies from My Lovely Bride, Suzanne. Rudy loves helping with opening presents… he is trying to teach Gretchen, but she doesn’t have his enthusiasm yet…

Suzanne really surprised me with this Awesome Bike Jersey, customized with photos of Rudy and Gretchen on the back and front, and “Dachsunds Rule” on the sides. Now I don’t have to worry about being attacked by loose Dobermans or Pit Bulls out  in the country. One look at these two fierce doxies and they’ll run for cover!

I also got some planning books for our Alaska trip. I’ve already heard from several friends about places to see, and one couple asked if they could go with us as “roadies”….  unfortunately, the guest accommodations aboard The Bus are designed more for grandchildren than adults; even my daughter Elisabeth finds the hide-a-bed uncomfortable, and she’s used to sleeping bags in tents on snow and rock…

Suzanne performed with her flute choir at the Church on the Square in Spanish Springs last night, with a Christmas concert enjoyed immensely by the two hundred or so attendees.

After the flute concert, we adjourned to an Italian restaurant, Carrabba’s, for dinner. From left to right are Your Faithful Correspondent, His Lovely Bride, Donna Kelly, Bob Quigley, Gloria Quigley, Marilyn Dyer, and Jim Dyer. The 11th was also Marilyn’s birthday, and Jim’s was the 6th, our daughter Susan’s birthday. It’s a small world…

All in all, it was a super day… and tomorrow I might ride my bike with Rudy and Gretchen… how cool is that? Then we’re off for a few days at Disney in The Bus. Suzanne hasn’t been since she was 10 years old… I was at sea then…  ðŸ˜‰
